The city of Burnaby is located in the lower mainland of British Columbia just east of Vancouver and only 30 km from the US border. It has a population of 223,200 people and growing. Over 54% of people living in the city do not list English or French as their first language, highlighting the largely multicultural population.
Situated between the City of Vancouver on the west and Port Moody, Coquitlam, and New Westminster on the east, the City is further bounded by Burrard Inlet and the Fraser River on the North and South respectively.
